On the 3rd November 2007 ‘C’ (Tiger) Company held their first Cadet Mess meal for over a decade. The meal was attended by almost every cadet in the Company as well as all seven Detachment Commanders, Company Training Sergeant Major (who was also acting C.S.M for the weekend), Admin Officer, Training Officer and the Officer Commanding. However… the rest of the company adults were not left out as they had to smarten up and be our waiters and waitress’ for the night. Making sure everything ran smoothly as Maitre Dean was the County Training Sergeant Major.
Before the mess meal, after a hard days graft in the field by the whole Company, we where given an hour to get ready in our smartest dress but for a change we didn’t wear berets so the gel and straightener’s where brought out. Once everyone was ready we had a wait in one of the training rooms where some music was played everyone was getting along great all joining in conversation with the adult instructors then we were invited into the mess and everyone was amazed by the display the adults and also the food made by the caterers. After the meal which was fantastically served by the waiters and waitresses we had a number of toasts and speeches one of which was mine; it was a difficult task but with help from the Company Admin Officer it was made simple and went excellently!
Since it was Bonfire weekend in order to end the mess meal on a high the adult instructors put on a very large bonfire and a fireworks display, shortly afterwards we went back to our billets and got ready for the disco that was put together by the County Training Sergeant Major after a thorough night of fun we went to bed.
